Legislative Updates

Politics and legislative action govern the environment that we exist in. While the wheels of legislation may turn slow, they turn nonetheless and it takes an issue to become advocacy, to become a bill which, once passed, becomes law.    

All of the redress of “criminal justice reform” was attempting to reform, or undo, what had been done through the aforementioned process. What is different now, is the impacted parties realizing the public nature of the political process.   

At The Lazarus Rite, Inc. we instruct, in detail, about the power of advocacy and political process that becomes the laws which govern our environment.   

Previously, we have led on such issues as: 

• felons voting ability immediately upon release 
• non violent felony expungement (the first felony expungement provision in the history of the state)
• supported $15/hour minimum wage increase  
• supported decriminalization of medical marijuana
